Hootsuite has two versions. Hootsuite Pro and the entry level Free version. The free version is in fact suitable for most people. Even some business will find Hootsuite free is enough to fill most of their needs. However, the free version enough limitations that may actually cost you in the long run. For me, and with about 50 – 75% of my business coming from Social Media, the nominal monthly free for Hootsuite is totally worth it.
If I haven’t convinced you, let me tell you some more.
If it comes down to a question for me, whether I would pay $10/month (or 8.99) whatever it is, each month for the features it has, and you bet I would. Primarily I would pay the monthly fee to allow more accounts than the free account allows, access to some new reporting, and most importantly for me is the bulk scheduler.
The bulk scheduler is a terrific tool for the average business owner. As an owner, you can can brainstorm for an hour or two, or over a weekend and bulk load hundreds of thoughts and ideas, questions, feedback, and much more to the auto-scheduler and let it drip slowly over the next week or two.
Buffer for example (a great app by the way) is about the same price, but all you get is the ability to add a few more accounts and more custom schedules for the auto scheduling. With Hootsuite you get a lot more. And I’m not just saying that because I have a whole lesson course based on them. It is just simply the case.
Think of it like this; I have a whole course lesson on them because they’re so good, they’re the ones I recommend for most people.
First, Hootsuite’s auto-schedule is pretty darn good. I find it that it works great for me and the companies I help. Second, If I have tweets that I have scheduled via the bulk scheduler, the “auto-schedule” tweets I will do throughout the day as I read news and post closer to real time, will come out fairly quickly. They don’t go to the “back of the line” as they do in Bufferapp. This for me is absolutely amazing and a must-have feature.
This means I can schedule holidays and special promotions way in advance and they won’t interfere with day to day or fresher content that needs to go out that same day when I use the auto-scheduler.
I can have a second person help me overlook and manage the accounts if I needed to, as my monthly fee allows for two members of my team to manage my accounts. That is great to help you as your account list grows.
Is the investment for Hootsuite Pro worth the monthly or yearly fee, I guarantee you it is. Just like any other system or tool you must use it. You must get value out of it and only you can do that. Make sure you have a strategy in mind, with corresponding goals, tactics, techniques and other methods you’ll use to achieve your goals.
